​As a young boy, Matt Allen used to prefer staying inside to read over going outside to play--especially once he discovered The Hardy Boys.  Many books later, after being introduced to adult thrillers, he read as much as he could get his hands on.  When he does put a book down, he squeezes in as much baseball as possible.  After a college degree and a handful of jobs that had nothing to do with writing, he sat down to write a story of his own.

The Silence is his first novel.  He is currently working on a second book.  Matt lives in Louisville, Kentucky, with his wife.
